Who are we?

Mindful Mentoring is the collaborative vision of Dana Gordon and Rebecca Hayes.

Dana Gordon, Educational Therapist

Dana Gordon has worked extensively with diverse student populations. She has experience serving students with learning disabilities and attention issues. She also teaches Family Literacy and ESL courses through San Diego Community College. Dana is committed to helping students gain the skills and confidence necessary for success both in school and life.

rebecca Rebecca Hayes, Educational Consultant

Rebecca Hayes has comprehensive training and experience in working with children with special needs. She has taught ESL and has served as a reading specialist, behavior technician, and a child advocate. She has actively served in both private and public realms within the San Diego community for over ten years. Rebecca is dedicated to making a difference, one child at a time.

juan Juan Gonzalez, Academic Mentor

Juan attended San Diego State University where he earned his degree in Chemistry and minored in German. Scientist and teacher by day, composer by night, Juan believes in connecting with a diverse student population through his unique interests and perspectives. He loves to support his students, empowering them to be successful and realize their goals. Juan has also taught chemistry and math at many fine institutions of learning including the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, High Tech High Media Arts, High Bluff Academy, and the Southern California Yeshiva High School.
jessie Jessie Macaulay, Academic Mentor

Jessie Macaulay received her BA from UC Berkeley in Psychology and Philosophy, and is interested in child and adolescent psychology. She has worked with emotionally disturbed adolescents, and served as a peer counselor in college. Jessie is also the eldest of eight siblings in her own family, lending her a unique perspective into youth at every stage of growth and development. She believes in the power of positive thinking and teaching by example.
